When the official Star Wars: The Force Awakens soundtrack came out, many fans were disappointed to discover that the two original pieces of music created by Hamilton composer Lin-Manuel Miranda were not included. Finally, as we celebrate Star Wars Day, the song titled Jabba Flow is now available on iTunes. And as a special bonus treat, we have video of The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams and Lin-Manuel Miranda performing this reggae-inspired tune live.

The song Jabba Flow comes from the Maz Kanata Cantina scene midway through The Force Awakens. It accompanies Han, Rey, Finn and Chewbacca as they make their way through the bar in Maz's Castle to speak with the proprietor herself about safe passage back to the Resistance base. Many fans have not yet heard the full track until today. As you can see in the video included below, Lin and J.J. did really sing on this catchy song.

Jabba Flow was performed as part of the free Ham4Ham show offered outside of the Richard Rodgers Theatre where Hamilton is currently being performed, and Deadline was there to capture video. The extremely popular play just garnered 16 Tony Award nominations, including three just for Lin-Manuel Miranda on his own. The writer/composer-lyricist-star of the historical hip-hop drama is providing this free entertainment for folks waiting in line to possibly win a coveted $10 ticket from the show's lottery.

The Ham4Ham show has actually become something of a phenomenon of its own, becoming a premiere destination for both audiences and musicians who want to perform. Before J.J. helped Lin get down to the first live recording of Jabba Flow that we know of, the story of how their relationship came to be was told yet again. An electronic version of Jabba Flow was first released on the official Star Wars tie-in compilation Head Space, which was curated by famed producer Rick Rubin.

In The Force Awakens credits, J.J. Abrams and Lin-Manuel Miranda are known as Shag Kava. The song was specifically reserved for release on May 4, known worldwide as Star Wars Day. As of right now, the official version of the song is only available via digital download. There is no word on whether it will get a proper vinyl 45 release.
