Ant-Man Easter Eggs and End Credit Scenes Breakdown
Marvel's Ant-Man hit theaters over the weekend, and, like all of the MCU movies before it, this adventure features several references to the comics and upcoming superhero movies. To break it all down, Mr. Sunday Movies has put together a comprehensive seven-minute video pointing out all of the Ant-Man Easter Eggs, plus another video that explains the two end credits scenes. Naturally, if you haven't seen Ant-Man yet there will be spoilers, so watch at your own risk. Speaking of Ant-Man...
Paul Rudd Pulls a Familiar Prank on Conan O'Brien
Longtime viewers of TBS' Conan know there is a tradition whenever Paul Rudd pays a visit to the late-night talk show. Instead of showing a clip from whatever movie he's promoting, he instead shows the same bizarre scene from the 1988 film Mac and Me, where a young boy in a wheelchair falls off a cliff. Last week, the actor stopped by to promote Ant-Man, and the usual shenanigans ensued, but with a bit of a new twist. Kudos for keeping the tradition alive, Paul Rudd!
Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Mad Max: Fury Road Trailer Mashup
Krishna Shenoi posed a simple question on her YouTube page: "What if the world of Mad Max: Fury Road was part of the Star Wars universe?" That question apparently lead to the creation of this fantastic mashup trailer, which is essentially footage from Mad Max: Fury Road with bits and pieces from the Star Wars: The Force Awakens behind-the-scenes video shown at Comic-Con and other FRgAKNrSBIT2km|Star Wars movies mixed in for good measure.
Daniel Radcliffe Becomes a Horrible Receptionist For One Hour
What happens when one of the most recognizable actors on the planet sits in as a magazine receptionist? Nylon Magazine decided to put that question to the test, enlisting Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe with the task of filling in as their front desk receptionist for an hour, and it was all caught on camera. There is also a surprise cameo at the end, who doesn't quite approve of Daniel Radcliffe's receptionist skills.
Modern-Day Superheroes Promote Hostess Products
Back in the 1970s, Hostess teamed up with both Marvel and DC Comics for a series of comic book-style print ads with several superheroes promoting their products such as Twinkies, Fruit Pies and Cupcakes. The Line Is Drawn reached out to several artists to create new ads with modern heroes such as Spider-Gwen, Bat-Girl, Harley Quinn, She-Hulk and more promoting these products.
An Incredible Star Wars Rancor Costume from SDCC
Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage's Tested put together an incredible Star Wars Rancor costume that they put on display at Comic-Con. What's interesting is, in Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi, the filmmakers actually wanted to make a costume like this for the huge beast that Luke Skywalker has to fight off in Jabba the Hut's lair, but they couldn't make it work so they used puppets. This costume was actually referenced by the early costume design that wasn't used in the film, and the result is quite amazing.
Marvel Superheroes Reimagined as Dogs
Artist Josh Lynch has decide to use his considerable talents to transform several Marvel superheroes into dogs. Fantastic Four's Mr. Fantastic is turned into a wiener dog while The Incredible Hulk is turned into a green bulldog. Maybe next time we'll get to see these dogs battling each other in their new superhero costumes.
Batman Gets Ready For Battle, Cinderella Style
Ever wonder how Bruce Wayne transforms into Batman with ease? Marco D'Alfonso has a humorous response to that question with a piece of artwork that mashes up Batman with Cinderella. The piece shows Batman in his Batcave, being dressed by a number of pink bats, an homage to an iconic scene from the original Cinderella.
