LucasFilm has introduced the first female character in Star Wars Rebels, the weapons expert Sabine, voiced by Tiya Sircar (The Internship). This Mandalorian warrior with an attitude is described as spunky and feisty, and has an affinity for blowing things up. She also moonlights as a graffiti artist. Take a look at the new featurette with Tiya Sircar, executive producer Dave Filoni and CG supervisor Joel Aron, along with the first photo of the character.

Tiya Sircar spoke about Sabine's artistry, which she uses to enhance her explosive style.

"She does it with flair."

Executive producer Dave Filoni teased that Sabine has broken away from the Empire, which will be an asset to the fledgling Rebel Alliance.

"She's definitely one who's turned against the Empire and that's going to be to the Rebels' benefit."

CG supervisor Joel Aron added that Sabine brings a visual style unlike any other character in this Star Wars universe.

"She's adding something that we haven't really seen before in the Star Wars universe. You have a character that is expressively creative through art -- whether it's the color of her hair or what she's done to her armor."

Sabine joins the previously-announced characters Inquisitor, new astro-mech droid Chopper, the Jedi cowboy Kanan (voiced by Freddie Prinze Jr.), teenage con artist Ezra (voiced by Taylor Gray) and alien strongman Zeb (voiced by Steve Blum).

Star Wars Rebels will debut with a TV movie this summer on The Disney Channel, before transitioning to its new home on Disney XD this fall.
