LucasFilm and Disney XD announced today that the first trailer for Star Wars Rebels will debut on Star Wars Day, May 4th. We also have promo artwork featuring all of the main characters and three new photos from this highly-anticipated animated series. If that wasn't enough, Tiya Sircar, who is voicing Madolorian weapons expert Sabine, spoke with USA Today about taking on this role. Tiya Sircar, who signed on to play Sabine back in February, revealed that her red carpet appearance at last weekend's Radio Disney Music Awards gave her the chance to see a Stormtrooper up close and in person.

"I had never seen a Stormtrooper in real life. They were lovely."

Sabine is one of the crew members aboard the Ghost, along with Jedi Kanan Jarrus (Freddie Prinze Jr.), young con artist Ezra Bridger (Taylor Gray), the gruff alien Zeb Orrelios (Steve Blum), Twi'lek pilot Hera Syndulla (Vanessa Marshall) and a new droid named Chopper. They are all members of the nascent Rebel Alliance, who are trying to steer clear of the Galactic Empire and the new villain known as The Inquisitor.

Out of all these Rebels, Tiya Sircar may be the most rebellious. She is trained in combat but also uses graffiti artwork to let the Empire know exactly who they are fighting, which was one of the traits that drew Tiya Sircar to the role.

"I love her. She does everything with flair. When she's blowing stuff up, she's doing it artfully."

The actress added that each member of the Ghost crew has their own reasons for joining the Rebel Alliance, teasing that Sabine joined for very serious reasons.

"I can't wait for people to find out why she's part of this Rebel crew. It's serious stuff."

She believes that fans are intrigued by Sabine because of her Mandalorian heritage.

"She's a chick Mandalorian, so that makes it more interesting, and everyone's very familiar with Boba Fett."

She also talked about being one of two female characters, along with Vanessa Marshall's Hera Syndulla, while fans of the original trilogy only had Carrie Fisher's Princess Leia to look up to as a female role model.

"(I'm glad that fans have) two kick-butt kind of girl characters. I hope fans are really going to get on board with them."

After she won the role, the actress immersed herself in George Lucas' full universe, after growing up with the original trilogy. When asked how big of a Star Wars nerd she is now, the actress had this to say.

"Now? 11. Vanessa and Freddie, they know everything. I would dare say they know almost as much as (Star Wars Rebels executive producer) Dave Filoni does, and Dave Filoni is the encyclopedia on Star Wars everything. Our very first (recording) session, those three went on and on. I was impressed and also intimidated. Literally I was like, 'I need to up my game here.' I'm getting there, and I fully realize why people are crazy about it."
