The very first character art from the Star Wars Resistance series has leaked online thanks to the Disney France Partners Event 2018. In addition, it was announced that fans will be able to see the show this fall. The animated series was first announced in April of this year and it focuses on a young Resistance pilot who spies on the First Order. The series takes place in the early days of the Resistance and will serve as a prequel to The Force Awakens. While the show will center on a new character named Kazuda Xiono, Oscar Isaac is back to voice Poe Dameron and Gwendoline Christy voices Captain Phasma.

The Star Wars: Resistance series will premiere sometime in October on the Disney XD network. A firm release date has yet to be announced. A leaked image from the Disney France Partners Event features some character art from the animated show with images of Poe Dameron, Captain Phasma, and BB-8 along with the new character Kazuda Xiono, who is front and center. There are two sides of the art, one featuring the Resistance group and another showing off the First Order.

On the First Order side of the image, Captain Phasma is prominently featured up front along with some Stormtroopers. There is an additional red Stormtrooper that could very well be Cardinal, who first showed up in the Star Wars: Phasma novel by Delilah S. Dawson, which would be a pretty cool nod to the book, which is official canon. There are some other characters on the Resistance side of the art, but it isn't clear who they are at this time. There isn't very much information about the Star Wars: Resistance series currently available, but that will hopefully change during San Diego Comic-Con in a few weeks.

Dave Filoni, who was the showrunner for Clone Wars and Rebels is back for Star Wars: Resistance and he recently stated that he wanted to make an animated series about a Resistance pilot because of his interest in World War II aircraft and fighter pilots. The Resistance fighter aircraft is also featured in the leaked artwork as are the TIE Fighters on the First Order side. The action is all detailed in an anime-style of animation with bright vibrant colors that Filoni is really excited about in addition to the fighter pilot aspects.

As previously noted, Star Wars: Resistance will make its debut this October and we should get an official release date in the next few weeks, possibly at San Diego Comic-Con. If Lucasfilm and Disney decide to bring some announcements to the convention, it would be cool to see some teaser footage as well, so hopefully they can make that happen. While we wait for any more updates in regard to the series, you can check out the leaked character art from Star Wars: Resistance below, thanks to Yak Face's Twitter account.
