With less than two months left until the first Star Wars spin-off, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters, anticipation is higher than ever for this new adventure, set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. There has been no shortage of plot rumors swirling around this project centering on the true identity of Jyn Erso, the Rebel leader played by Felicity Jones. Given the timeline that this story is set in, some think that Jyn may actually be the mother of Daisy Ridley's Rey from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. While that has never been confirmed, Daisy Ridley recently spoke about the rumors.

Yahoo! Movies caught up with Daisy Ridley, who revealed that she recently met Felicity Jones for the first time. When asked if she has heard about the rumors of Jyn Erso being the mother of her character Rey, the actress says she doesn't know anything about it. Here's what she had to say on the matter.

"I don't know. That'll be interesting when I see [Rogue One]. But I don't watch things and think in that way. So I think I'm just gonna watch it and be blown away."

Daisy Ridley added that she and Felicity Jones discussed the press tour she went on to promote Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which took her to distant locales such as Seoul, Mexico City and so many other countries. The actress added that she's almost envious of Felicity Jones to embark on this adventure for the first time, and that she was excited to see Rogue One.

"It was weird, I've talked so much retrospectively about what was going on [in the lead-up to Force Awakens]. It was so odd to be reliving it. And she gets to go talk about this film that she's part of in all these amazing places. I feel like 'jealous' is the wrong word, but I had such a good time in the run-up to the film, and it was all so exciting. Knowing that she's experiencing that is so great. Plus the film's meant to be amazing, so it's a fantastic continuation of the Star Wars world."

When asked if she offered any advice to Felicity Jones, Daisy Ridley said there was no need to, adding she's "got everything nailed," and that they just talked about their "filmmaking experiences." Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be the first Star Wars spin-off to hit theaters, followed by a Han Solo spin-off starring Alden Ehrenreich, which is set for release on May 25, 2018, and an untitled third spin-off rumored to focus on Boba Fett, which is reportedly set for release at some point in the year 2020.
