Even though we still don't know the official title or any confirmed plot details whatsoever, casting is currently under way on Disney and LucasFilm's first Star Wars Spin-Off, which will be directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla). Following yesterday's report that Rooney Mara, Felicity Jones and Tatiana Maslany are reading for the female lead, Variety reporter Justin Kroll dropped a "Twitter scoop" that Rooney Mara's sister Kate Mara has also tested for the role. Naturally, this has yet to be confirmed, and we have no details on who the character may be, or if it has any ties to the existing Star Wars franchise.

The news does make sense, since Kate Mara stars in The Fantastic Four, which was written by Simon Kinberg, who is deeply involved in the entire Star Wars franchise. However, if the rumors are true that 20th Century Fox is demanding reshoots for The Fantastic Four, that may make her unavailable for this Star Wars Spin-Off. With that being said, we don't know when production will start on either the Star Wars Spin-Off or The Fantastic Four reshoots, so it's possible that the actress could make the scheduling work.

A rumor surfaced last month that the first spinoff will center on a group of space pirates, including a young Han Solo, while earlier reports claimed the story will follow bounty hunter Boba Fett. The only thing we know for sure is that casting is under way, and that Gareth Edwards is directing, so hopefully we'll hear more official details soon. Aside from The Fantastic Four, Kate Mara will next be seen in Man Down.
