Fans of Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul know he's not shy when it comes to his personal life and career. So it should come as no surprise that he's finally addressed the rumors that he will be taking on the lead in the first Star Wars Spin-Off movie, hitting theaters in December 2016. While he doesn't confirm these rumors as fact, he doesn't necessarily deny them either. His words only serve to fuel the fire.
/star-wars-spinoff-movie-han-solo-aaron-paul/Last month, it was first rumored that Aaron Paul will take on the lead in a Star Wars Spin-Off directed by Gareth Edwards. The movie is said to revolve around a young Han Solo, though this is not the part the actor will be playing. It was later revealed that the Untitled Gareth Edwards Directed Star Wars Spin-Off is actually going to follow a team of Space Pirates, with Han Solo featured as one of the main characters. While this news has never been confirmed by Disney or LucasFilm, it was speculated that Aaron Paul may actually be playing a mentor or father-figure type role to Han Solo.
While Aaron Paul has a number of releases coming out in 2015, his upcoming work schedule is unusually light. The Untitled Gareth Edwards Directed Star Wars Spin-Off is rumored to begin shooting just as the 24th Bond movie, Spectre, winds down production at Pinewood Studios outside London in the UK sometime in 2015. It is also rumored that the spinoff will overlap with Star Wars: Episode VIII, to be directed by Rian Johnson. It's also noteworthy that Aaron Paul recently portrayed Luke Skywalker in the Jason Reitman Live Read of the Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back script this past December. Does any of this mean he's actually joined the Star Wars movie universe? No. But we may get confirmation sooner than later, as the movie begins to heat up on the production side of things.
