/star-wars-movie-spinoff-cast-tatiana-maslany/Last week, it was heavily rumored that Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany had beat out Rooney Mara, her sister Kate Mara and Felicity Jones for the female lead in the Untitled Gareth Edwards Directed Star Wars Spin-Off. This news has not been confirmed by Disney nor Lucasfilm, but a new report has come in, and it claims that Tatiana Maslany will actually be playing one of the new Star Wars Rebels characters live and in the flesh.
If these reports are true, that means the first Star Wars Spin-Off will revolve around Sabine Wren and Boba Fett. This is just one of many rumors that have come in concerning the plot of this sci-fi adventure. Some claim it will focus on Han Solo, while others believe it follows a group of space pirates that includes a young Solo, and there are even those who believe it will include both Han and Fett.
It's speculated that Sabine was introduced in Star Wars Rebels to create good synergy between the small screen and big screen versions of this franchise. It makes sense that Disney and Lucasfilm would attempt to tie the two worlds together, since they exist in the same Universe. Star Wars Rebels takes place roughly 18 years before Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, so Han, Sabine and Boba could easily exist within the same time frame, though it isn't known just how young Han Solo will be if he is included here.
Ikwiz first reported on this news, claiming that Sabine, who also wears Mandalorian armor just like Boba Fett, will be a little older than she is in the animated series, and she will have graduated to being a Bounty Hunter. In the series, Sabine is a Mandalorian weapons expert who is active during the reign of Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine around five years before the Battle of Yavin. She is also a graffiti artist who rides with the crew of the Ghost, customizing her armor and tagging a new symbol every time her team strikes an Imperial target. What do you think? Do you want to see her in the spinoff movie?
