According to sources at CS!, actor Stellan Skarsgård (Ronin, Amistad) has been tapped to play the role of Orlando Bloom's father 'Bootstraps' Turner in the Pirates of the Caribbean sequels.

"We are going to shoot around the Los Angeles area as well as in the Bahamas and the West Indies," says an enthusiastic Skarsgård. "I'm playing the old pirate 'Bootstraps' Turner... it should be fun, I enjoyed the first one."

Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise recently said he was negotiating with Geoffrey Rush to return as 'Barbossa' in a third "Pirates" movie. Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley are all signed on to return, along with the director and writers from Pirates of the Caribbean.
