Following his starring turn in last year's The Purge: Anarchy, Frank Grillo is teaming up with Blumhouse Productions once again for the thriller Stephanie, which will be directed by Akiva Goldsman. Universal Pictures is distributing with Blumhouse's Jason Blum producing alongside Chapter One's Matthew Kaplan (Jessabelle). Here's the official synopsis revealed by The Wrap.

"Abandoned by her parents in their remote home, Stephanie survives on peanut butter and conversations with her toy turtle, while a dark supernatural force looms in the background. When her mother and father return to claim her, the malevolent power spins out of control with Stephanie at the center."

Akiva Goldsman is directing from a screenplay by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski, which landed on the Blood List in 2012 as one of the top unproduced horror screenplays. Jason Blum and Matthew Kaplan will produce alongside Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Adrienne Biddle, with Nate Matteson, Eric Robinson and Bryan Bertino serving as executive producers. No production schedule was given at this time.

Frank Grillo most recently starred in The Purge: Anarchy and as Brock Rumlow, a.k.a. Crossbones in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, a role he will reprise in next year's Captain America: Civil War. He also stars in the DirecTV series Kingdom, which was recently renewed for a second season.
