In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, it seems that Oscar winning writer Stephen Gaghan is coming back to TV with a "blind put pilot commitment" from ABC.

According to the terms of this deal, Gaghan will create a one hour long project for ABC. He will also be directing the pilot episode.

ABC and Fox had both been vying for Gaghan's services. Currently, this pilot project has no studio involvement. Some contenders are Sony TV and ABC Studios.

Gaghan took home an Oscar in 2001 for writing Traffic. Five years later he was also nominated for Syriana a film that he directed.
