Horror icon Stephen King is in discussions to write an episode of The Walking Dead for the upcoming second season.

Actress Laurie Holden, who plays Andrea in the AMC zombie series, revealed the news at a panel during the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo over the weekend. Stephen King and series creator Frank Darabont previously worked together on Stephen King adaptations of The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile and Stephen King's The Mist.

Jon Bernthal also revealed at the panel that Frank Darabont won't direct the Season 2 premiere, but is planning on directing a different Season 2 episode.

It isn't clear when production will start on The Walking Dead Season 2, although an October premiere date has already been lined up.
