Screen Media has acquired the rights to A Good Marriage, an adaptation of Stephen King's 2010 novella of the same name.

Joan Allen and Anthony LaPaglia star as Darcy and Bob Anderson, a couple whose 25-year marriage is jeopardized when Darcy discovers a shocking secret about her husband. Kristen Connolly and Stephen Lang co-star in this thriller, which will debut in theaters and on VOD formats this October, just in time for Halloween.

Here's what Stephen King had to say about the acquisition in a brief statement.

"I'm delighted that A Good Marriage is going to be available to the movie going public very soon, and hope we can scare the hell out of millions of people. To me, that's always an exciting prospect."

Stephen King wrote the adapted screenplay himself, with Peter Askin directing. Will Battersby and Per Melita are producing for Reno Productions.
