Last month, we reported that Sony Pictures is moving forward with a biopic on Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, which was announced just days after he passed away at the age of 56. A new report indicates that actors George Clooney and Noah Wyle are both in contention to portray Steve Jobs.

Sony is fast-tracking the biopic, with an eye to start production sometime next year. We reported in October that Sony wants Oscar-winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network) to write the script. We haven't heard yet if Aaron Sorkin has agreed to come aboard this project yet or not.

Noah Wyle previously portrayed Steve Jobs in the 1999 TNT TV movie Pirates of Silicon Valley. Both Noah Wyle and George Clooney starred on the hit NBC medical drama ER together.
