According to Variety, Steve Kloves will return to Hogwarts and create the screenplay for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the sixth installment in the lucrative Warner Bros. Pictures franchise.

His return means that scribe Michael Goldenberg will leave the series after completing the script for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, a gig he took last fall upon Kloves' exit from the franchise.

Warners said Goldenberg will write and direct an untitled project for the studio once he's done with Phoenix, the fifth Potter pic. The project Goldenberg will work on is an original, futuristic drama.

Kloves adapted the first four books in J.K. Rowling's blockbuster series for the bigscreen, including the upcoming Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, which bows November 18.

"I can't fully explain exactly why I chose to exit for a time. What I do know is that I soon found myself missing the world and the characters," Kloves said.
