Director Steven Soderbergh and actor Brad Pitt are teaming up again, this time for a sports-themed movie. According to Variety, Soderbergh is set to direct and Pitt to star in Moneyball.

Steven Zallian adapted the Michael Lewis book, Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game, which focuses on Oakland Athletics general manager Billy Beane, who used a sophisticated computer analysis program to scout and put together a team that was a regular World Series contender in the 70s, despite a payroll vastly lower than most rivals. Pitt will star as Beane.

Soderbergh was set to make Cleo, his musical about the romance between Cleopatra and the Roman warrior Marc Antony, his next film, with Catherine Zeta-Jones and Hugh Jackman, but he pushed the film to next year after Jackman bowed out due to scheduling problems.

No production schedule was given for the film.
