Ahead of the premiere of Jordan Peele's new movie Nope, star Steven Yeun has just been cast in another acclaimed filmmaker's sci-fi movie. Per Deadline, Yeun has joined the cast of Bong Joon Ho's next film based on the Edward Ashton novel Mickey7. This reunites the actor with Bong who previously directed the film Okja, which featured Yeun in a lead role. The Mickey7 adaptation also stars Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Mark Ruffalo, and Toni Collette.

It's not yet clear if the movie will retain the Mickey7 name as the film is currently untitled. What's known is that the adaptation is written and directed by Bong. The filmmaker is also producing under his Offscreen banner alongside Kate Street Picture Company's Dooho Choi and Plan B's Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner. Bong, Choi, and Plan B, Brad Pitt's production company, previously collaborated on Okja.

Plot details on the Mickey7 movie adaptation haven't been divulged. It is presumed that the story of the novel heavily inspires the events of the movie but it's also expected that Bong will be taking some creative liberties, and there could be some key differences with the story's transition to the big screen. With that said, you can get a basic idea of what the film may be like by reading the official synopsis for the Mickey7 novel below.

"Mickey7 is an Expendable: a disposable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world Niflheim. Whenever there’s a mission that’s too dangerous—even suicidal— the crew turns to Mickey. After one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most of his memories intact. Mickey signed on to escape from both bad debts and boredom on Midgard. After six deaths, Mickey7 understands the terms of his deal…and why it was the only colonial position unfilled when he took it. When he goes missing and is presumed dead at the hands of deadly indigenous creatures, Mickey8 reports for duty, and their troubles really begin."
