Death Row Records co-founder Marion "Suge" Knight was arrested early this morning in connection with a hit-and-run accident on a commercial set for Straight Outta Compton. The incident killed at least one man, whom many thought was original Battlestar Galactica star Terry Carter, but instead turned out to be a close friend of Knight's. Suge Knight's attorney James Blatt originally confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that one of the victims was in fact the 86-year-old Carter, who also starred in the 1970s TV series McCloud. But this was later corrected. Associated Press claims the unidentified victim who died at a local hospital was 55 years old. TMZ reports that he worked at a tow truck company in Compton, with witnesses claiming him to be, "an OG in the neighborhood." Accounts of the incident, which happened late Thursday, are still not quite clear at this time.

The alleged murder happened in Compton, California, during a commercial shoot for the upcoming biopic Straight Outta Compton, which charts the rise of gangsta rap group N.W.A.TMZ says that Suge Knight showed up on the set, and was told to leave by security, when an altercation took place. Original N.W.A. members and Straight Outta Compton producers Dr. Dre and Ice Cube were present, but it isn't known if they were involved in the altercation. Deadline reports that this was actually the first of two separate altercations, with the fatal accident taking place at the Tam's Burgers parking lot.

There are conflicting reports that Suge Knight struck and killed Terry Carter by accident, while trying to flee the altercation, while other reports claim that he struck Terry Carter and another man, actor and activist Cle Sloan, in retaliation for the altercation. One report says Cle Sloan was injured, while another said he has died. There is no confirmation at this time. Here's what LAPD Lt. John Corina had to say in a statement.

"Looks like he drove backwards and struck the victims and drove forwards and struck them again. The people we talked to say it looked like it was an intentional act."

Cle Sloan, who has had small roles in films such as Training Day, Street Kings and End of Watch, was said to have suffered "non life-threatening injuries", and is currently in the hospital. Though, EW says both men were killed. We have no official confirmation yet if the Terry Carter killed yesterday is the TV actor, or a tow truck company employee from Compton. Suge Knight is currently being held at a West Hollywood police station on $2 million bail. We'll keep you posted with any further updates on this breaking story.
