According to Variety, indie distributor Strand Releasing has acquired domestic rights to helmer Anahi Berneri's feature A Year Without Love, which screened at the recent Berlin fest, as well as writer-helmer Rodolphe Marconi's French-lingo The Last Day.

An Argentinian drama, Love follows a writer dying of AIDS searching for a medical cure and some human warmth in the hospitals and S&M clubs of Buenos Aires.

Pic was produced by Diego Dubcovsky, Daniel Burman and Maximiliano Pelosi. Berneri penned the script with Pablo Perez. Love was sold through Bavaria Films.

Strand additionally snapped up U.S. rights to Day, starring Gaspard Ulliel and Nicole Garcia, from French sales banner Gemini Films.

Pic, produced by Paulo Branco, follows a man's return home to his family amid a backdrop of unrequited love for another young man.

Strand rolled out Marconi's Love Forbidden previously.
