In a story from Variety they report that Strand Releasing has picked up the 2008 Sundance film Downloading Nancy.

Directed by the Swedish filmmaker Johan Renck, the story follows the fate of the unhappy wife Nancy who orders the guy she meets over the Internet to kill her, but the two of them fall in love. The film stars Maria Bello, Jason Patric, Rufus Sewell and Amy Brenneman.

"We were captivated by Downloading Nancy bold but honest approach to a very controversial subject. In this age of Facebook and MySpace, the film has specific relevance," said Strand Releasing's Jon Gerrans.

Downloading Nancy will hit theaters in 2009.
