SPOILERS for Stranger Things Season 4 to follow...

Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn practices his guitar-playing skills in a new clip from behind-the-scenes of Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2. Shared to Twitter via Discussing Film, Quinn demonstrates his affinity for Metallica’s Master of Puppets in preparation for that triumphant moment during the Stranger Things Season 4 finale.

While the actor lacks the glorious long hair of his character Eddie Munson, he more than makes up for it in dedication as he puts his guitar shredding skills to the test for the sake of our entertainment. Thankfully, Quinn’s commitment paid off massively, as the moment that Master of Puppets blasts out into The Upside Down in order to distract the hive mind bats has quickly emerged as a fan favorite — as has Eddie Munson himself.

Quinn has also since revealed that, while his effort is unquestionable as he did play the majority of the music himself, he was not quite able to nail the most excellent solo. "I was very lucky in the fact that I've been playing since I was young,” the actor said. “I've had a huge amount of time off, but when I read the script, I went and bought the guitar and started practicing manically. The solo was not me. I'm not a heavy metal guitarist, so we got this brilliant virtuoso to come in and do that bit. But the rest I was able to film."

Despite Eddie making the ultimate sacrifice to save his friends and the town of Hawkins, a petition has now been launched to bring the character back from the dead for Stranger Things Season 5. More than 43,000 Stranger Things fans have added their signatures, calling for The Duffer Brothers to find a way to resurrect Eddie and allow him to take part in the fifth and final season.

Thanks to the Metallica moment and the performance from actor Joseph Quinn, Eddie’s demise has left a bad taste in the mouths of Stranger Things fans. Quinn, though, believes that Eddie’s arc has been completed, as we see the character go from frightened outsider to world-saving hero.

"It's a redemption tale,” Quinn explained. “I think he's completely haunted by his inability to do anything to save Chrissy and how powerless he was at that moment. And obviously being blamed for that murder is devastating and then having to go into hiding...then at some point in Episode 8, a switch flips, and he decides that he's going to prove himself."

While it’s highly unlikely that Eddie will be brought back to life, The Duffer Brothers have now revealed (among other details) that his sacrifice will have "huge repercussions" amongst the surviving members of the Hawkins gang.

Starring an ensemble cast that includes Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Brett Gelman, Matthew Modine and Paul Reiser, Stranger Things Season 4 is now available on Netflix in its entirety.
