Kate Bush’s haunting Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God) plays over the latest footage from Stranger Things Season 4 Part 2. The trailer, released courtesy of the official Stranger Things Twitter account, reunites us with Eleven and the rest of the Hawkins gang as they attempt to save themselves and the town from the villainous Vecna.

The beloved Kate Bush song has seen a massive resurgence since being used in the first part of Stranger Things Season 4, and it seems that Running Up That Hill will continue to play a major part in the last part of the season, as it is masterfully merged with the ‘80s synth sound of the Stranger Things theme. The song suggests that Max will continue to rely on the sweet sounds of Kate Bush to keep from the evil grasp of Vecna, with the footage from the rest of Stranger Things Season 4 painting a pretty ominous picture of things to come.

As Eleven continues to revive her powers, Vecna, who has now been revealed to be Henry Creel and One, the first of Dr. Martin Brenner’s experiments, begins to unleash his might on the tiny town of Hawkins. Hopper, Joyce, and Murray, meanwhile, find themselves in a very different but no less dangerous predicament, attempting to escape a Russian prison and avoid being devoured by all the Upside Down creatures that reside within it.

With the gang scattered and scared, here’s hoping that they can pull together once again and put an end to Vecna and his plan to bring the Upside Down to the right side up.

As teased by this dark and gloomy trailer, the final two episodes of Stranger Things Season 4 will be no easy ride. In fact, Stranger Things producer and director Shawn Levy has revealed that what’s left of the fourth season will be a real punch in the chest.

"I'll just tell you that we are hard at work on volume two,” Levy said recently. “There's so much being written as far as the runtimes of these episodes, and the hefty runtime of episode nine, in particular. Having seen both those finale episodes, they are as emotional as they are cinematic. Holy shit, they are definitely a treat for the eyes, but they punch you right in the heart. So, that's what I'll say about that."

Not only will Stranger Things Season 4 Part 2 bring the heat emotionally, it will be unmatched in scale as well. Co-creator Matt Duffer has revealed that the extended finale, which clocks in at an extended 2 hours and 19 minutes, will feature “more FX shots than the entirety of Season 3.”

Starring a large ensemble cast that includes Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Brett Gelman, Matthew Modine and Paul Reiser, Stranger Things Season 4 Part 2 will be available to stream on Netflix from July 1, 2022.
