This week, Nielsen revealed that Stranger Things became the most streamed series of 2022 with its 4th season, which made perfectly clear that the Duffer brothers’ creation is Netflix’s biggest hit. After the explosive ending of the last slot of episodes, fans have been waiting for the final season news. And although we won’t be getting the show back until 2024, we could have some details sooner than we imagined.Series star Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers, revealed during an Instagram Live that shooting for the new season starts in May, stating that his work won’t be interfering with school, as he is set to finish that same month before going to the set.

Noah’s character was a little left out last season after being one of the main protagonists in the first few seasons, with Will’s disappearance triggering the plot. Fortunately, the show's creators have stated that Will will be an essential part of the conclusion; as the Upside Down takes over Hawkins, our group of heroes gets ready to confront and overcome Vecna once and for all.

Will had an interesting arc last season, though, with the actor confirming his character's feelings for Mike and acting in a heartbreaking scene. The actor himself came out a few weeks ago through a TikTok video.

During an interview for Netflix's special event, TUDUM, the Duffers commented that season 1 success was beyond their expectations, so many things they have planned for the second installment of the show would play an essential part in the upcoming season. In the second part, after coming back from the Upside Down, Will is still haunted by the monsters and the dark energy drawn from that place, which he still feels.

This could also be channeled through Max, Sadie Sink’s character, who almost died at the end of season 4 after being possessed by Vecna. Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven was able to save her. However, there are still many questions about the character and her connection with Jamie Campbell Bower’s villain, who will be back and stronger than ever.

So, with the Upside Down gaining space into the real world and Will and Max connected to its dark forces, Stranger Things 5 will see the protagonists fighting a force that has managed to take control of their surroundings and is hidden in every corner, ready to attack.
