Stranger Things fans have had a few reasons to celebrate in the last few days thanks to finally being told when they can expect to see the fourth season of Netflix’s hit show. Today they were given another reason to swamp social media as Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown marked her 18th birthday. Having appropriately been a part of the Netflix franchise since the age of eleven, Brown has grown up in the public eye, following her breakthrough as the mysterious Eleven in the Netflix franchise with movie appearances in the Godzilla franchise and Netflix’s Enola Holmes, which she also produces.

The British star has packed more into her first eighteen years than many people do in a lifetime and has certainly come a long way in a short time thanks to her role in Stranger Things. Born in Spain to English parents, her family moved back to the U.K. when Brown was four, and subsequently moved out to Florida four years later. The actress made her screen debut in ABC fantasy Once Upon a Time in Wonderland in 2013, and made a number of small guest appearances in dramas such as Grey’s Anatomy, Modern Family and NCIS before taking on the role of Eleven.

Having picked up multiple awards for her portrayal of the lead character of what would become Netflix’s biggest original hit series, including a Screen Actor’s Guild award and Saturn Award, Brown has to-date picked up a total of 31 nominations and will no doubt add to that number with the upcoming season of Stranger Things. As well as one final season of Stranger Things, Brown’s future is looking quite busy as she will soon be seen in Enola Holmes 2 alongside Henry Cavill, and had been added to the casts of Netflix fantasy Damsel and the Russo Brothers movie The Electric State, as well as reportedly being offered a first look deal by Netflix that would incorporate a whole slate of projects.

Stranger Things Season 3 Wraps, Cast Share Final Set Photos

As expected fans and colleagues of the star were quick to share their birthday wishes on Twitter and Instagram, but not before the actress posted images of herself via Instagram, sporting long blonde hair as she prepared to celebrate her birthday in style with boyfriend Jacob Bongiovi. The post gained plenty of birthday messages from stars such as Paris Hilton, Spice Girl Emma Bunton, Kevin Pietersen and Stranger Things stars Matthew Modine and Noah Schnapp.

Schnapp also posted a birthday photo of the pair together on his own Instagram, commenting, “Happy 18 to this crazy girl…thanks [Stranger Things] for bringing this crazy duo together.”

Stranger Things producer Shawn Levy also took the opportunity to congratulate the star, sharing a picture of the two of them on the set of the show and commenting, “Happy birthday @milliebobbybrown! We took this picture in the desert right before you told me to watch out for scorpions. I found out after I went squealing away that there were probably no scorpions, just you messing with me. Which is something you like to do a lot. What a ride it’s been alongside you, watching you grow up on screen and off. You may be 18 today, but you’re also Eleven forever.”

Netflix added to the birthday messages by tweeting a huge montage of pictures of Brown in her numerous roles for the platform, and declared the day a “national holiday” as they wished the star a happy birthday. Legendary also shared their birthday wishes for the “monster-fighting, mystery-solving legend”, which was a direct reference to her appearances in their Godzilla movies and Enola Holmes.

You can check out some of the other congratulatory posts shared by fans of Millie Bobby Brown on Twitter, and we hope she had a great night out to celebrate. With Stranger Things Season 4 kicking off in three months’ time, and many other projects to come, there is still a lot more to come from the actress in the future, and we can’t wait to see it.
