A new rumor claims that Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown has had “informal” conversations with Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy, with the young actress hoping to join the Star Wars franchise. According to The Mirror, Brown and her father and manager Robert are keen for the Stranger Things actress to add her name to the Star Wars roster, with Brown reportedly eager to feature in either a movie, or play a central role in one of the upcoming Disney+ projects.

"Millie is on Disney's radar for the new Star Wars projects. She's had contact with Kathleen, who is aware of her desire to feature in a movie or play a central role in one of the new TV projects for Disney Plus,” a source says in the report. “The conversations are informal but there's huge mutual respect there. The Disney executives know just how much of an icon she is already for the 10 to 30-year-old audience and what that brings in terms of appeal. She could easily take home $15m for a first film or series. And she doesn't need to audition – it's more a case of how the director and her bond. She has the gravitas to hold down the lead for that universe."

It sounds like, if Millie Bobby Brown wants to join the world of Star Wars, then Millie Bobby Brown is going to join the world of Star Wars. The actress, who is best known for roles in Stranger Things, Enola Holmes, and Godzilla vs. Kong, has already emerged as a major talent despite being just 18 years old. While this is just a rumor, with her star power in tow, Brown can pretty much choose to be a part of whatever project she likes the sound of. The actress is now just waiting for a Star Wars outing that interests her.

It's unknown whether Millie Bobby Brown has a particular Star Wars project in mind in which to add her name, but she will have plenty to choose from. There are currently a number of spinoffs set for release on Disney+, including Star Wars: Skeleton Crew with Jude Law and Star Wars: The Acolyte, as well as the continuing adventures of The Mandalorian and Andor.

Regarding the big screen, Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi is currently working on a mysterious new project that he says will introduce new characters, while The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson is also still due to return to a galaxy far, far away at some stage. Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy has also recently revealed that the Star Wars silver screen adventures will eventually return to the universe and characters created in the Disney sequel trilogy, meaning that there are a lot of projects to discuss before Millie Bobby Brown decides which one to join.

Back in 2016, Brown did name one character that she would love to play in the Star Wars world. "Princess Leia. If they made - I think they are making another Star Wars - I would love a role like that,” she said. With Obi-Wan Kenobi introducing a young Princess Leia, could a Princess Leia prequel led by Millie Bobby Brown be taking shape?

Millie Bobby Brown will next return as Eleven in Stranger Things Season 4 Part 2, which is due to land on Netflix on July 1, 2022.
