Writer Dean Georgaris has inked a deal with Relativity Media and Hasbro to write their upcoming action comedy Stretch Armstrong.

The story is based on the popular toy manufactured from 1976 until 1980. The original 1970s Stretch is very collectable now and commands high prices on the secondary collectors market, selling for thousands of dollars. The film has been in development for quite a while, with Taylor Lautner at one point attached to portray the pliable blond beach bum turned super hero.

Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir from Hasbro are producing with Relativity's Ryan Kavanaugh.

Dean Georgaris most recently penned Tristan & Isolde and The Manchurian Candidate.
