Earlier this week, actress Viola Davis revealed that she still has to work out her schedule to play Amanda Waller in Warner Bros.' upcoming comic book adaptation Suicide Squad. Today, The Wrap reports that the actress is currently finalizing her deal for Suicide Squad and multiple other DC Comics movies. Neither Warner Bros. nor Viola Davis' reps would comment on the story.

We reported in December that Viola Davis was offered the role of Amanda Waller, a popular character in the DC Comics universe who puts together the Suicide Squad, comprised of imprisoned villains who take on impossible missions in return for amnesty. The squad, which was announced in December, is comprised of Deadshot (Will Smith), Rick Flagg (Tom Hardy), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), The Joker (Jared Leto), Boomerang (Jai Courtney) and Enchantress (Cara Delevingne). There is also a rumor that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star Jesse Eisenberg will reprise his role as Lex Luthor, but that has yet to be confirmed.

The Wrap also reports that Will Smith himself personally lobbied for Warner Bros. "to do whatever it takes" to secure Viola Davis. However, the negotiations have been tricky because of her commitment to ABC's new hit series How to Get Away with Murder, although insiders claim that the deal should close in a couple of weeks. David Ayer is writing and directing Suicide Squad, with production set to begin this April at Pinewood Toronto Studios. What other DC movies do you think Amanda Waller will appear in?
