It's been just one month since Warner Bros. confirmed that their supervillain ensemble Suicide Squad will be released in 2016, with the cast coming together rather quickly. A new report today reveals that Jai Courtney is in talks to play Floyd Lawton, a.k.a. Deadshot.

Variety reports that previously-rumored actors such as Tom Hardy, Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Jared Leto are all in various stages of negotiations to join the ensemble, which is being written and directed by David Ayer (Fury).

If all of the deals are finalized, Tom Hardy will reportedly play Rick Flagg, a founding member of the villainous group in the DC Comics, with Margot Robbie eyed to play Harley Quinn and Jared Leto being courted to play The Joker. Sources claim that, if Will Smith signs on, he may portray The Flash's nemesis Digger Harkness, a.k.a. Captain Boomerang. It's worth nothing that only two of these characters, Captain Boomerang and Deadshot, were listed in a rumored roster that also included Blockbuster, Multiplex, Jaculi, Mindboggler and Vixen.

There was also a rumor that surfaced last month which revealed that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star Jesse Eisenberg will reprise his role as Lex Luthor in Suicide Squad, but that has not been confirmed.

Jai Courtney most recently starred in Divergent, and he will next be seen in a number of high-profile titles, such as Unbroken, The Water Diviner, The Divergent Series: Insurgent and Terminator Genisys.
