Just a few days after actor Joel Kinnaman signed on to replace Tom Hardy as Rick Flagg in Suicide Squad, Warner Bros. is starting to round out the supporting cast. The Wrap reports that Jay Hernandez is in negotiations for an unspecified role. The site claims that the actor could be playing an inmate who resides on the same cell block as The Joker (Jared Leto), although there are a number of other open roles yet to be cast as well.

Will Smith (Deadshot), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jai Courtney (Boomerang) and Cara Delevingne (Enchantress) round out the main cast, with Viola Davis still in negotiations to portray Amanda Waller, who runs the squad. Jesse Eisenberg is also in talks to reprise his Lex Luthor role from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. No official plot details have been released at this time.

David Ayer is directing from his own screenplay, with production scheduled to begin in Toronto this April. Jay Hernandez most recently starred on the Fox crime drama series Gang Related. The actor will next be seen on the big screen in Max this August, alongside Lauren Graham, Robbie Amell and Thomas Haden Church.
