With production still under way on Suicide Squad, we haven't seen many photos and videos from the set lately. And that's probably because production has moved indoors at Pinewood Studios in Toronto. Aside from a handful of unofficial Suicide Squad images, we have only seen the entire cast together in the official photo that surfaced in May, which showed Jai Courtney sporting some unique facial hair as Digger Harkness, a.k.a. Captain Boomerang. While promoting his new film Terminator Genisys, the actor revealed that director David Ayer personally trimmed his beard to get the right look he wanted.

"David Ayer came into the make-up room when we were having the meetings to decide what the thing was, and just picked up the clippers and started shaving me. And I'd shown up quite hairy so they'd got freedom to move, and he just started attacking me... And then he's like, 'You look like bad news... It looks like your buddy got drunk and cut your hair.'"

In the DC Comics, Captain Boomerang is either depicted as clean-shaven, or with massive muttonchops, and the director opted for the latter for his superhero movie. The actor added that, after David Ayer finished trimming his beard, he simply said "It's good" and walked out of the room, with the actor having to maintain this look throughout the production. This amusing anecdote shows how hands-on the filmmaker is with all aspects of his production, even something as seemingly innocuous as a character's facial hair. You can check out the actor's Boomerang beard in the brief video interview clip below, and stay tuned for more on Suicide Squad as production continues.
