/suicide-squad-movie-cast-photo/Earlier in the week, The Suicide Squad cast gathered for their first official photo together. Though, someone was mysteriously absent from the shoot. Well, guess what? It seems that Jared Leto, who plays the most iconic villain of all the super villains in the movie, The Joker, actually took the picture in question. And now we have a photo of him taking said picture of the cast. And in a clever move, it is an ode to the classic Alan Moore and Brian Bolland DC comic book story 'The Killing Joke'. Here, we get our first look at Jared Leto with green hair as his Joker transformation continues.

Batman: The Killing Joke was a one-shot graphic novel set in Gotham, which provided an origin story for the clown prince. We get to see the villain as a failed stand-up comedian who agrees to aid a gang of criminals and is thwarted by the superhero Batman before being disfigured. He is driven insane and soon attains his supervillain persona. Does this photo indicate that this is the Joker we'll see Jared Leto inhabiting on the big screen in Suicide Squad? That is not yet clear.

The Suicide Squad itself was originally created by Robert Kanigher and Ross Andru way back in 1959, with a military group led by Rick Flag, Jr. It has since gone through many transformations, and now follows a group of hardened career criminals called upon by the U.S. government to carry out nearly-impossible missions in exchange for their immunity. David Ayer has teased that the film will be loosely based on the current New 52 iteration of the title. We've included the cast photo from earlier in the week, which includes Will Smith (Deadshot), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn}, Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flagg), Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc), and Viola Davis (Amanda Waller).
