We've known since long before production started that Suicide Squad will be shot in Toronto, but, with no confirmed plot details to go on, it wasn't ultimately clear where this superhero ensemble would actually be set. There were rumors that the movie opens inside Arkham Asylum prison, which is in Gotham, where Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) tries to break out The Joker (Jared Leto), although she interferes with Deadshot's (Will Smith) own mission, resulting in them both being caught. While the Arkham Asylum/Gotham connection has yet to be confirmed, new photos from the set reveal that Midway City from the DC Comics is at least one of the settings.

Midway City is best known as the home of the Silver Age heroes Hawkman and Hawkgirl, and the superhero group known as the Doom Patrol also worked out of the city for a period of time. It isn't known at this time if Hawkman, Hawkgirl or the Doom Patrol will be featured in Suicide Squad, but there are a number of actors whose characters have yet to be confirmed, such as Jim Parrack, Alex Meraz and Ike Barinholtz. There have also been rumors that Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) has her own secret prison, where she brings Harley Quinn, Deadshot and The Joker to, so it's possible that this facility could be in Midway City.

The all-star cast of Suicide Squad also includes Jai Courtney (Boomerang), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flagg), Cara Delevingne (Enchantress) and Jay Hernandez (El Diablo). Hopefully we'll get new details soon as to how Midway City fits into the story of writer-director David Ayer's superhero adventure, but what do you think?
