There has certainly been no shortage of Suicide Squad news today. Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje joinned the cast as Killer Croc, while Jared Leto teased his Joker voice during his 30 Seconds to Mars world tour. We also have a report that revealed which characters new cast members Scott Eastwood (Steve Trevor) and Ray Olubowale (King Shark) may be playing. Even more news has come in courtesy of Latino Review's El Mayimbe, regarding both the cast and the timeline the movie is set in.

It is first revealed that Suicide Squad is actually set between 2013's Man of Steel and next year's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which opens on March 25, 2016, four and a half months before Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5, 2016. While this may not make too much sense right now, if you look at this within the context of another recent rumor, it may become a bit clearer. El Mayimbe revealed earlier this month that Batman will have a cameo in Suicide Squad, where he is perceived as "some sort of big boogeyman the government REALLY hates." That report also said that, before the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Joker is the only one who ever really knew of, or met, Batman, which is what makes the villain so important to Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), who has been keeping tabs on a number of heroes and villains alike.

If all of this is true, it would make sense that the government hates Batman in Suicide Squad, since this movie comes before he helps save the world and forms the Justice League in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It has also been rumored that Jesse Eisenberg will reprise his Lex Luthor role from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in Suicide Squad. His appearance in Suicide Squad would make more sense if the movie actually takes place before Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Finally, our report from earlier today about Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje also revealed that actress Karen Fukuhara has been cast in an unspecified role. El Mayimbe is now revealing that she may be playing the DC Comics villain Plastique. This villain is said to have a "minor role" within the Squad itself, appearing in one scene set in a nightclub. Naturally, none of these details have been confirmed by the studio, but what do you think about Suicide Squad being set before Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? Let us know what you think below, and stay tuned for more updates.
