After the disappointment that was Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Warner Bros. has done a lot of shifting around and a lot of attempted course correction for their future DC Comics movies. Their next release, the highly anticipated Suicide Squad, wasn't able to undergo as much retooling because it was already so far into production. Either way, the movie is coming out in just over a month, and we have now learned what the run time of the movie is going to be. And it might just be for the best.

According to a new report from Collider, they have learned what the exact running time of the movie will be, including the credits. Their sources have told them Suicide Squad will be 130 minutes. So, considering that there are usually around 10 minutes worth of credits, it sounds like the movie will be right at the two hour mark for this super villain adventure, which is right in the sweet spot for a movie like this.

The very reasonable run time is actually a bit more telling than some might think. Batman V Superman's theatrical release was more than two-and-a-half hours, not to mention the three-hour R rated cut that is coming out on Blu-ray soon. Even before the current run of DC Extended Universe movies, the Warner Bros. superhero movies have always been pretty long, especially the Christopher NolanBatman movies. So, it looks like David Ayer and the studio decided to make Suicide Squad a reasonably tight movie, even with a big cast of unknown characters.

We also recently learned that Ayer has totally completed Suicide Squad, post-production and all. The movie is in the can and ready to go, and now he and the studio will be focusing one-hundred percent on marketing the movie. After BvS failed to meet Warner Bros.' very lofty expectations for it, they will be putting all of their chips on the table to try and make this movie a big success. Ayer recently took to Twitter to declare that the Suicide Squad movie is ready to go. Here is what he had to say.

"Squad is completed! Finished final mix and coloring. Now it's off to the lab and then the world. Nothing like it out there. It.Is.a.Beast."

Suicide Squad had a massive, ensemble cast that features Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne and a whole lot more. BvS finished its box office run with just over $870 million worldwide, and though that is a big number, it is not the $1 billion hit the studio was expecting in order to launch their DC Extended Universe. With the poor critical and fan reception to BvS, the studio needs a hit to keep the DC Comics movie train on the tracks, and Suicide Squad is going to have to be that hit. The movie is set for release on August 5.
