Warner Bros.' Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will launch the studio's massive DC Comics movie universe, which will continue later this year with the super villain ensemble Suicide Squad, hitting theaters on August 5. Thanks to a plethora of set photos and video that surfaced while the movie was shooting in Toronto, we learned that Ben Affleck will be returning as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Of course, this makes sense, since Suicide Squad features Batman's iconic nemesis The Joker (Jared Leto), but fans have also been wondering if Henry Cavill's Superman will show up. While doing press with the Brazilian website Superinteressante, Henry Cavill confirmed that he won't be appearing in Suicide Squad, but he may be featured in another DC movie.

"Yeah? Hmm? Damn, what can I say about it? Not in Suicide Squad. In Wonder Woman I have not heard anything yet, but there is still time. Anything beyond that I do not know."

Production started on Wonder Woman back in November, but it isn't known how much shooting is left on the superhero adventure. We got our first sneak peek at this stand alone adventure last month, during The CW's half-hour special on this massive superhero universe. Last year a rumor surfaced that Wonder Woman will be set in three different time periods and settings. One of these settings is Diana's homeland of Themyscira, and it is rumored that the Italy portion of the shoot will be used for the Themyscira scenes. It was also recently confirmed that another setting is World War I, with the last setting being present day, which will connect the movie to her appearance in the upcoming Justice League Part 1.

Wonder Woman also stars Chris Pine as the title character's love interest, Steve Trevor, along with Ewen Bremner, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis and Saïd Taghmaoui. Connie Nielsen most recently signed on to play the title character's mother Hippolyta in Wonder Woman. Patty Jenkins (Monster) is directing from a script by Jason Fuchs (Pan).

Of course, even if Superman doesn't show up in Wonder Woman, both characters will reunite in Justice League Part 1, which has been confirmed to start production at some point next month. Given the three different settings for Wonder Woman, do you think Superman should pop up at some point during the movie?
