Summit has picked up rights to Gayle Forman's young adult novel If I Stay.
According to Variety, the story follows a young musician and her rocker boyfriend who get caught up in a tragic car wreck. Dutton Children's Books will publish the tome in the spring.
"Not since Twilight have we seen as emotionally moving a book for a youth audience with this kind of crossover appeal," Summit president of production Erik Feig said. Summit's Michael Schaefer brought in and will oversee the project.
No production date has been set.
