Smallville is continuing to bring in faces from previous incarnations of Superman, this time in the form of Marc McClure, who played Jimmy Olsen in the Christopher Reeve starring Superman movies. According to Superman, McClure will be playing Dax-Ur, a Kryptonian who has been living on earth as a human.

McClure will be appearing in episode 7.10 "Persona," which also features the return of James Marsters as Braniac.

McClure will be the third actor from the Superman mythos to appear on Smallville this season, following Dean Cain (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman) who played the villainous Dr. Curtis Knox, and Helen Slater (Supergirl) who will be appearing as Lara, Clark Kent's Kryptonian mother.

The show's producers are being tight-lipped about whether there is any connection between the Dax-Ur to be played by McClure and the villainous Jax-Ur from the Superman comics.
