What Superman: Legacy Will Be About?

Superman Legacy
DC Comics

According to the official synopsis released by DC Studios, Superman: Legacy tells the story of Superman's journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as outdated.

Gunn revealed that one of the comics that inspired him while writing the script is All-Star Superman, which sees the hero dying from a massive overload of solar energy. Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely narrate throughout this volume the last weeks of the Last Son of Krypton.

During this time, he will face off against two survivors from his home planet, alien threats and, of course, Lex Luthor in one last stand for the good of Earth. And all this while, like his human counterpart, he tries to put his own private life in order in the face of his imminent and irremediable death.

Of course, the upcoming movie won’t be adapting this storyline verbatim, because it’ll be an introduction for this new version of the character, but Superman: Legacy might take some elements from the comics such as the villains, and some other characters.
