Just a few weeks after rumored plot details for Warner Bros.' Man of Steel 2 leaked, it has essentially been confirmed that this project is happening. While we'll have to wait and see if the plot details hold up, Henry Cavill's new manager, Dany Garcia, the manager and ex-wife of global superstar Dwayne Johnson, confirmed that development is under way for the "Superman standalone" project, which is believed to be Man of Steel 2. However, it isn't known when this project may actually start production.

At the end of Newsweek's extensive profile on Dany Garcia, who helped her ex-husband Dwayne Johnson become the highest-paid actor in Hollywood, she confirmed that a new Superman movie is happening. No plot details were revealed, and it isn't known if there are filmmakers attached at this point. Here's what Dany Garcia had to say below.

"Henry has a big appetite. We've been in a five-month period of time where he's re-strategizing, acquiring property [for his production company Promethean], he's filming [Justice League] now, he's in development for the Superman standalone... he's beginning to expand that world. It's beautifully teed up. In a year from now, or two years from now, he's going to be a force globally."

You may recall that, back in April, Henry Cavill revealed he definitely wants to make Man of Steel 2, but that would depend on how Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice fared at the box office. While the movie did perform well, earning $872.6 million, it was still trashed by most critics. Still, it would make sense to develop another Superman movie since the studio is already working on a standalone Batman movie.

Last year there was talk that Man of Steel 2 was being indefinitely delayed, but it seems that isn't the case anymore. Ben Affleck is on board to star in, co-write and direct his own stand alone Batman movie, but we don't know who is writing or directing Man of Steel 2. We also reported last year that Mad Max Fury Road director turned down this sequel, but that was never confirmed.
