In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Superman Returns was No. 1 on both the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert and Home Media Retailing's Rental chart.Ice Age: The Meltdown held strong in the No. 2 spot on both charts.

Clerks II may not have burned up the theater circuit, but it came in at No. 4 on both the sale and rental charts. See No Evil came in at No. 8 in sales and No. 9 in rentals.

Seasonal titles closed out the First Alert Top 20 with The Ultimate Christmas Pack in the No. 13 slot, Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! came in at No. 15, It's a Wonderful Life took the No. 17 spot, and people showed they still want to spend the Holidays with the Griswold's as National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation landed in the No. 20 position.
