Superman Returns has been nominated for an Academy Award in the category of "Achievement in visual effects". The film is running against Poseidon and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and the winner will be announced at the 79th Annual Academy Awards telecast on Sunday, February 25, 2007.
