Paramount has acquired a pitch entitled Supermax from former studio executive-turned screenwriter Marc Haimes.

No details were given regarding the plot, except that it is a high-concept found footage thriller. Given the title, this project may take place in some sort of "supermax" prison. Pacific Rim and Godzilla producer Mary Parent will produce through her Disruption Entertainment company.

Marc Haimes also wrote Jitters, a project Paramount acquired back in 2009, which Mike Mitchell is directing. He is also writing a remake of the Norwegian thriller Trollhunter, along with an animated project for the stop motion company Laika. Before his burgeoning career as a writer, Marc Haimes served as an executive at DreamWorks for several years.

No production schedule was given for Supermax.
