Supernatural will officially come to a close after Season 15 wraps. Stars Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and Misha Collins shared an emotional video message to fans today announcing the news. The hit show is the CW's longest-running series and it just celebrated after hitting the 300-episode mark. By the time that the series concludes, it will have a grand total of 327 episodes, since Season 15 will consist of 20 episodes.

Jared Padalecki is visibly trying to hold back tears as he, Jensen Ackles, and Misha Collins make the announcement. Padalecki started the video by saying that they wanted Supernatural fans to hear it from them first before they heard it from anywhere else. Ackles goes on to say that they just informed the crew that they are excited to start Season 15, but that it will sadly be the last. You can read Padalecki's caption for the video below.

"Hey #Supernatural family here's a little message from Jensen Ackles Misha Collins and me. I'm so grateful for the family that's been built because of the show. Excuse me while I go cry."

Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and Misha Collins did not give a reasoning behind Supernatural ending, but it has been a long and great road for everybody involved. 15 seasons is a lot and seems like a good number to go out on. However, fans will more than likely be devastated. Executive producers Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb released a statement about the show ending, which you can read below.

"Firstly, we would like to thank all the people who have been involved with the show both in front of and behind the camera. For us it has been an experience of a lifetime. The support we have had from both Warner Bros Television and The CW has been incredible. We'd like to give special thanks to Jensen, Jared and Misha for making this journey so special. It is now most important to us to give these characters that we love the sendoff they deserve."

Supernatural has been a consistent hit since it arrived back in 2005 on the WB network from creator Eric Kripke. The series follows the Winchester brothers as they hunt demons, ghosts, monsters, and other supernatural beings and it has gained an intense cult following over the years. Not bad for a show that Kripke only envisioned going for a full three seasons and then calling it quits.

Eric Kripke departed after Supernatural Season 5, but like everybody that comes and goes from the show, he has remained a big part of the family. Jeffrey Dean Morgan recently came back for the 300th episode and it was a huge deal for the actor and the cast and crew, not to mention the fans, who freaked out when it was revealed. With that being said, Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and Misha Collins are saving the emotion for Season 15, so expect a ton of crazy surprises that only the Winchester brothers can provide.
