S.W.A.T.: Echoing the teaser-poster, the S.W.A.T. preview is a mere allusion to the latest film "From the Producer of The Fast And The Furious and XXX." Exclamation points of the film's slogan: "Even Cops Dial 911" punctuate sentences of helicopters hovering over the Cocoanut Hotel, a plane landing on the 6th Street Bridge and stars Samuel L. Jackson, Colin Farrell and Michelle Rodriguez frantically screaming, jolting or dodging explosions in various Los Angeles haunts.

Based on the 70s T.V. show (producer Neal Moritz claims the film is merely “inspired by the show with a 70s feel"), S.W.A.T's the story of L.A.'s finest calling their finest to transport a drug kingpin (Unfaithful's Olivier Martinez) out of the city. The team's problems explode when the kingpin offers 100 million dollars to anyone who frees him from custody.

Moritz promises that like his other films, S.W.A.T. is “at its core an action movie, but we will get into why someone would do this job." And, in the Summer of Special Effects (Matrix, Hulk, X-Men), nearly all of S.W.A.T's effects are as real as the ones S.W.A.T teams face everyday.

S.W.A.T. storms into theaters August 8th. You can also join the S.W.A.T. Street Team (your mission: become part of the elite advertising team of Sony for a chance at prizes) at the official website!
