Universal Pictures is bringing the Cate Tiernan novel series Sweep to the big screen with writer Robert Nelson Jacobs adapting the book, according to Variety.

The story revolves around a young girl who discovers she's not who she seems to be. The 16-year-old comes to realize that she's actually a descendant from a powerful line of blood witches and, as her powers develop, must decide if she should use these new powers for good or evil.

Vince Vaughn is producing the movie through his Wild West Picture Show Productions along with Wild West's Sandra J. Smith and Alloy Entertainment's Bob Levy.

No production schedule was released for the movie.
