/the-expendables-2-gets-pg-13-rating-because-of-chuck-norris/Yesterday, Chuck Norris told a Polish TV show during an interview that he demanded The Expendables 2 be cut for a PG-13 rating. This meant toning down the vulgar language and some of the violence. Why did he demand this? For the kids. He wants a younger audience to be able to see this movie, which is full of old men and is intended for an older action audience.

A PG-13 rating doesn't quite make sense for this particular franchise.

Fans didn't want to believe it. The Expendables 2 with a PG-13 rating almost seems pointless, and maybe Chuck Norris was speaking out of turn. Well, actually, it does appear as though the former star of such R rated action classics as Missing in Action and Invasion U.S.A. is getting his way.

Speaking with AICN, The Expendables franchise creator and storywriter Sylvester Stallone confirmed that The Expendables 2 has been made as a PG-13 rating action adventure. But he doesn't want that to deter fans from thinking it's a lesser movie than its predecessor, and he has kind words for old rival Jean-Claude Van Damme.

This is what he had to say.

"The film is fantastic with Jean-Claude Van Damme turning in an inspired performance... Our final battle is one for the ages. The PG13 rumor is true, but before your readers pass judgment, trust me when I say this film is LARGE in every way and delivers on every level. This movie touches on many emotions which we want to share with the broadest audience possible, BUT, fear not, this Barbeque of Grand scale Ass Bashing will not leave anyone hungry."

What do you think? Is the world ready for a PG-13 rated The Expendables 2? Has your excitement for this film waned? Do twelve year old boys care about Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
