When it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Disney+ TV shows receive almost as much attention as its big-screen offerings. It is not surprising that Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi has his own ideas of which of Thor’s fellow Marvel characters he would love to see get their own shows on the small screen. While discussing Thor: Love and Thunder with Fandom’s Eric Goldman, Waititi commented:

"I'd love to see a Valkyrie spinoff. A Korg spinoff would be good as well."

There are several MCU spin-off shows heading to Disney+ over the next year, and it is likely that it will not be too long before Kevin Feige announced more when the Phase 5 reveals start flowing. However, for now, the dream of Valkyrie or Korg getting their own series is something that is just that. While both characters have become firm favorites since making their joint debut in Thor: Ragnarok, whether they could manage to be the central focus of their own series is something that Marvel and Disney would need to think about. For Watiti, who provides the voice of Korg, it would obviously give him more work to do in the MCU, and that is always a good thing.

Thor: Love and Thunder Finds Valkyrie Looking For Battle

Is Valkyrie Returning in Avengers 4?

As a warrior, Valkyrie finding herself at the King of Asgard doesn’t always sit well with her previous fighting ways. At the start of Thor: Love and Thunder, Valkyrie finds herself having to deal with the day-to-day, mundane side of being a ruler, and it is clear that by the time the adventure really gets going, she is more than ready to take up arms and fight.

Despite that, Tessa Thompson previously revealed the type of ruler that Valkyrie has become, and also why she took on the mantle of King of Asgard rather than Queen. She said:

"I think she's very egalitarian. She's a kind king. I know there's been some confusion on the internet in terms of the gendering with her being king. The truth is, that's the job that Thor was going to do, and then he just gave her the job, and we just didn't bother to change the title, because the title is 'king', and she's like, 'Well, I can be king.' The suits that she wears – we thought it was sort of a fun nod to Frida Kahlo. She likes it. She feels slightly less enchanted with the bureaucratic elements of New Asgard. It's really been put on the map by the events that have happened in past movies, so it's also become this sort of tourist destination. I think she feels entirely proud. The thing about Asgard that's always been true is, it's not a place, it's its people."

Thor: Love and Thunder’s trailers have shown both sides of Valkyrie coming out in the movie, from her suited Asgardian ruler, to a fearsome warrior taking on the might of Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher. It is clear that for fans of the character, Thor: Love and Thunder is not going to disappoint, and could lead to even more calls for Thompson to reprise her role in her own series.
