Taken Extended CutOne of the biggest sleeper theaterical hits of 2009 keeps it's incredible run going on the DVD and Blu-ray shelves. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Taken swept the national DVD sales, rental and Blu-ray charts, for the week ending May 17.

The only real competition the Pierre Morel film had in its first week was from the vampire/werewolf prequel Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, which finished in second place on the sales chart but third place on the rental charts, behind last week's winner, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which finished third on the sales charts.

Taken completed the sweep with a win on the Blu-ray sales charts. It was said that a whopping 20% of the disc's total sales were in the BD format, as opposed to 16% for Underworld: Rise of the Lycans.
