New details have been trickling in every day for the highly-anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which is currently filming in Detroit, with today's report including our first details regarding Tao Okamoto and Holly Hunter's roles, along with Lex Luthor's hair color.
ComicBook.com reports that Japanese actress Tao Okamoto (The Wolverine), who joined the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice cast in April, has signed on to play Lex Luthor's assistant named Mercy in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In the DC Comics, Mercy Graves served as both the personal assistant and bodyguard for Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), who is both incredibly intelligent and skilled in hand-to-hand combat. Of course, her role hasn't been confirmed by Warner Bros. at this time.
The April announcement also revealed that Holly Hunter joined the cast, although no details were given regarding her character. This new report reveals that she is playing a U.S. Senator, who pays a visit to LexCorp with a Congressman, played by an unidentified actor. One of the scenes includes Lex interacting with the Congressman, where Lex proceeds, "to embarrass or be very disrespectful to the congressmen on his way out."
It is worth noting that April's announcement revealed that Tao Okamoto and Holly Hunter were playing characters who didn't originate in the DC Comics, so it's possible that Tao Okamoto's Mercy will be much different than in the comics.
Jesse Eisenberg has reportedly been spotted with long blonde hair in recent scenes being shot in Detroit, with one recent report comparing his look to late Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain. ComicBook.com reports that the Kurt Cobain comparison, "might be a stretch," but they do confirm he has, "a long, straight, surfer mop." Another report reveals these scenes reportedly take place during the beginning of the movie, and there is a chance he could end up bald by the end. The site's unidentified source also has this to say about how fans will react to Lex Luthor.
"You are going to hate this guy. You are going to root for him to be punched by Supes when he weasels his way out of legal trouble. He is cocky and confident because he is THAT good at what he does. He's a billionaire who knows he is more powerful than the Senator and Congressman visiting because he's a billionaire."
The source also described the high-tech security force that Lex has at his disposal.
"This is a high tech mega billion company with a shiny veneer. It's Apple/Google, colorful and consumer friendly public image but serious potential for Lex's deviousness."
Of course, none of this has been confirmed by Warner Bros., but if it does prove to be true, are you more excited for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice now? Chime in with your thoughts below.
